Pin Tools once per page type#

  1. Open a product in Shopify admin. Find Blocks or the app-block control, add Tools and pin it.
  2. Repeat on an order and a customer page if you want Tools on those page types.
  3. The pinned block is available on records of that type for staff with app access. Each staff member does not need to pin it separately.

Give staff access#

  1. In Settings → Users → Roles, open an appropriate custom role or create one for Toolbench.
  2. Include Toolbench: Store Utilities in its app permissions and save.
  3. Assign the role to the relevant staff members and store. If you edited a role they already hold, a new assignment is unnecessary.
  4. Ask a staff member to open a record and check Tools is visible.

What appears in Tools#

Content depends on the record and enabled modules. Products can show notes, product changes and viewers. Orders can show notes, order changes, viewers and a recorded cart. Customers can show notes, customer changes, viewers and linked carts. Use the Tools action to open its full pop-up and available actions.

How View History uses Tools#

A page visit can only be recorded when the block is present and accessible to that staff member. Visits provide context about page access; they do not prove who edited a field.

If Tools is missing#

  • Confirm the app is installed on the current store and the module is on.
  • Check both that the role includes Toolbench and that the person has the role.
  • Check Tools is pinned on this page type, not only on another type.
