What the integration helps with#
Toolbench’s Sidekick extension provides read-only information about modules, whether they are enabled and their setup steps. Supported checks return the current state and relevant links. This integration helps with the installed app; it is separate from App Store recommendations.
Ask for setup guidance#
- Open the module you want to set up.
- Use its in-app Sidekick help prompt, or name Toolbench and the module in Shopify Sidekick.
- Ask Sidekick to check setup steps and explain those that are unfinished.
- Complete the steps in Shopify or Toolbench, then ask it to check again.
Example questions#
- Help me set up View History in Toolbench. Check which setup steps are complete.
- Order Change History in Toolbench is not showing anything yet. Check its setup status.
- Help me give my staff access to the Tools block in Toolbench.
What unconfirmed means#
Some steps cannot be directly verified. An enabled theme embed may not report until a signed-in shopper uses a cart. A pinned Tools block may not report until an authorized staff member opens a record. Unconfirmed means the expected signal has not arrived, not necessarily that setup is wrong.
You complete and approve changes#
The data extension reads setup information. It does not turn tools on, grant permissions or edit records. Use the supplied links and Shopify’s normal approval controls to complete setup.
