What Fulfillment Rules does#

  • Restrict matching products to selected fulfillment locations.
  • Require selected items to ship from a single eligible location.
  • Apply constraints only to the carts and products you choose.

Set up Fulfillment Rules#

  1. Open Fulfillment Rules in Toolbench and choose Turn on. Choose it as one of your 3 active free modules, or use Premium.
  2. Review and approve any access request shown by Shopify.
  3. Confirm that the selected locations stock the relevant products.
  4. Create a rule, choose its conditions and target items.
  5. Choose allowed locations or the option to ship the items together.
  6. Save and test representative carts, including mixed products and low-stock cases.

Settings and behavior#

Settings and behavior
Setting or fieldWhat it means
Target itemsProducts affected by the constraint.
Allowed locationsOnly these locations can fulfill matching items.
Keep togetherOne eligible location must fulfill all matched items.

A practical example#

Restrict frozen products to a cold-storage location using a product tag. Confirm stock there, then test a cart with frozen and regular items.

Permissions and data access#

Reads products and locations and manages the fulfillment constraints created by Toolbench.

Access is requested when you turn the module on. Other enabled modules may request their own permissions.

Requirements and limits#

  • Every matching constraint applies together. If no location can meet them all, Shopify may show no shipping rates.
  • The module does not move inventory or buy shipping labels.
  • Up to 50 rules and 20 conditions per rule, subject to Shopify’s processing limits.

If something is not working#

  • If rates disappear, review inventory at the allowed locations and other matching constraints.
  • Test one simple rule before adding overlapping requirements.
